Our Cafés

We run two cafés at the John Radcliffe Hospital. One is located on the ground floor of the Main Hospital and a smaller café can be found in the Women’s Centre. Follow the signs as you enter the hospital to find us!

Menu – eat in or take away, pay by cash or card

We offer a wide choice of refreshments that change day by day. Our filled rolls and baguettes are baked and prepared each day using fresh ingredients, our cakes are locally made and our famous buns are specially baked for us daily. Our coffee is freshly made and our huge teapots are infamous!

Note that other League of Friends groups run the cafés in the West Wing, the Churchill Hospital and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.

Main Hospital Café, Level 2

Our café in the Main Hospital is bright and airy with plenty of seating for patients and their visitors and for hospital staff to enjoy a coffee and home baked cake, grab a quick lunch of freshly filled rolls and sandwiches with a chilled drink, or devour a hot pie or bowl of steaming soup. Everything is available to eat in or take away.

Women’s Centre Café, Level 1

Located in the waiting area, the Women’s Centre café is a take-away as customers have plenty of seating available right by the café. We sell hot and cold drinks, food and snacks.

Friday 10am – 2pm

Minimising waste

Minimising waste

We aim to avoid waste and harming the environment whenever possible. We have replaced plastic cutlery, bags and take away cups with recyclable alternatives and we encourage customers to recycle their cans and bottles.

At the end of each day all unsold freshly-made food and any packaged food that is on its sell by date are delivered to the homeless at O’Hanlon House in Oxford.
